Local woman wins $50,000 and cruise

STONEHAM, MA - The new year started on a positive financial note Saturday night for one Stoneham woman.
Diane Caruso picked up a quick $50,000 and a seven-day Carnival cruise for two in the state lottery's Bonus Bonanza game.
Caruso's name was announced during the Bonus Bonanza's television show Saturday night on channel 5.
Caruso, 48, of Hill Street, is one of 25 people over the course of a year, who will win the one-time cash award and vacation during the Cruise of a Lifetime scratch ticket game, sponsored by the Lottery.
Caruso became eligible for the drawing after sending in three non-winning scratch tickets to the lottery office.
The Cruise of a Lifetime game offers five other grand prizes ranging from $50,000 a year for life to the top prize of $200,000 a year for life.
According to lottery officials, Caruso remains eligible for the larger prizes.
